A generous donor has just presented to us a Shopsmith.  If you are not familiar with the Shopsmith, let me explain.  The Shopsmith is a multi tool: Wood Lathe, Drill Press, Horizontal Boring machine, Table Saw, Disk Sander, Drum Sander, Band Saw, Jointer, With additional attachments it can also become a belt sander, a planer, and a shaper.  It is very versitile.

We have just received the donation of a large Paragon Kiln.  The Paragon SnF 283 is one of the larger kilns and has a firing temperature rating of 2350 degrees.  This new equipment will help us expand the functionality of our new makerspace.

Calling All Members .... It's that time of year again.  Time for the Annual Meeting.  This is the time when we all can make a difference in how SCIL functions.  All dues paying members have a vote in the decision making process and the operations of SCIL, since it is a Member run Organization.  Please plan to attend the meeting which is traditionally held mid-January.  The final confirmed date will be sent to all members via email soon.  This is when the Board of Directors elections are held as well as the Officer elections.

Our very own Sam Fladung gave a class on Halloween Mechatronics with Microcontrollers, held at Cape Cod Makerspace was a hit. Here's an article about the class in the Cape Cod Times.

Visit our New Members Lending Library.  The Library program can be accessed by clicking on the Library Tab Above.  There are Books, Tools, and more. Members can maintain their own library catalog as well as lend items to the Main Library for circulation to other members.
